bookishbeth asked: All of your demoniac characters. *cheats*
YOU CHEAT. but if you insist~
SILAS (doing him first because freddie asked about him specifically)
- OTP: Silas/Doomed is what it’s shaping up to be *continues punching him mercilessly* On a non-romantic level though, Silas and Vince. They can’t ever get it together in their own respective lives, but they’ll put all their personal BS aside to take care of one another.
- Fave: Delias, because I like ruining his life.
- Worst: Omg, Sikhail. Definitely. Although it does make me LOL
- Guilty Pleasure: Silsheta. Because he just sighs wistfully at the thought (yes, wistfully), while I cackle.
- Pairings you’d like to see more of: ALL, TBH
- Pairing everyone likes but you’re like “LOL, NO”: Um. Idk.
GISELLA
- OTP: Colsella forever.
- Fave: Colsella
- Worst: In theory, would be Gilial. Which sounds like a razor brand.
- Guilty pleasure: Evan/Zel. Because, UNF.
- Pairings you’d like to see more of: Zel/Everyone. Except Belial. She’d do her best to kill him, actually.
- Pairing everyone likes but you’re like “LOL, NO”: Don’t have one for her. *SHIPS HER WITH EVERYONE*
PIPER
- OTP: Her and Beth. That counts, right?
- Fave: See above answer.
- Worst: I’M LOOKING AT YOU, COL
- Guilty Pleasure: I do LOL every time I picture her and Mik shaking up.
- Pairings you’d like to see more of: PIPER/MORGAN SHOULD HAPPEN AT SOME POINT, I’M JUSSAYIN
- Pairings everyone likes but you’re like “LOL, NO”: um, idk for this one too. her play has been limited atm for plot reasons.
how about we do the ships thing?
put a character in my ask and i’ll answer:

- worst pairing ever
- guilty pleasure pairing
- a pairing you want to see more
- that pairing everyone likes but you’re like “lol no”

At the Roosevelt in LA, the Liberty Bar is surprisingly empty. There’s a big premiere going on at the Kodak Theatre across the street, and everyone in the hotel is crowding outside to catch glimpses of stars as they walk the red carpet. Everyone, of course, except Jensen Ackles, who is busy listing off adjectives to one of the mixologists behind the counter. “Heavy. Rugged. Something earthy.” It sounds like he might be describing himself, but he quickly laughs the thought off and explains. “You don’t order drinks here. Tell them what you’re in the mood for, and they’ll make you one. Trust me, you won’t regret it.” So I do, asking the bartender for something tart, strong, and preferably with Chavis. “Whiskey?” Ackles raises his brow, and flashes me that trade mark grin of his. “This is gonna be my kind of interview, then.”
When the man behind the counter sets our drinks down in front of us, we take a moment to cheers the prospect of no awkward questions (“No pressure or anything,” he tells me as we clink our glasses together) before taking the first sips of our mystery cocktails. Mine is practically heaven to my taste buds, and with the satisfied sigh that escapes the actor, I can only assume his is too. “Matt, you never miss the mark, man. Tastes like home in a glass.”
As we drink, it dawns on me that the hotel we’re in is said to be one of the most haunted spots in Los Angeles, but the idea doesn’t even seem to faze the 34 year old Texas native. After all, why would it? He is certainly no stranger to things that go bump in the night. For seven seasons, Ackles has conquered both Heaven and Hell as hunter Dean Winchester on the CW’s Supernatural, and now he’s tackling vampires, werewolves, and yes, more demons as rogue private investigator Silas Greyson on Showtime’s smash hit, Demoniac: Malum Urbis. But while the strange and unexplained have been a staple of his career for the last ten years, he insists “nothing weird ever happens to me in real life. I’m actually staying here for research for the show, so I keep hoping to run into Marilyn [Monroe] to practice talking to ghosts instead of killing them. I haven’t seen her yet, though.”
But one thing he does have in common with his fictional personas? “I’m a family guy. Not in the same way that [Silas and Dean] are, but it’s definitely an element in those two characters I can identify with. When playing around with darker themes, and when you’re having a nervous break down on-screen every other week, it’s important to have something to hang your hat on. That’s mine. My family means the world to me. They keep me grounded.” Of course, Ackles’ own family is far more extensive than that of either of his tv personalities. The son of actor Alan Ackles, Jensen tied the knot with actor wife Danneel [Harris] in 2010, and maintains a strong relationship with his Supernatural co-stars as well. “I’m surrounded by a buncha crazy people, on and off screen,” he jokes. “And I couldn’t be happier about it.”
We finish off our first drinks, and order a second round. Before I can raise mine though, the actor is switching our glasses. “What’s the difference? They’re all good here. Might as well try something new.” I can’t find an argument in this, and after taking my first sip of this new drink, I realize he’s right. Even heavy, rugged and Earthy works for me at the moment. ”Sometimes you just have to branch out. Who knows? It might work better for you than the old does. If not, call it a life experience.”
So can we add life coach to Jensen Ackles’ list of credits? He doesn’t miss a beat as he deadpans: “It’s already on my resume. It reads Jensen Ackles, motivational guru and part time actor.”
When I tell him it’s too bad he can’t give his characters the same advice, he’s quick to both agree and disagree. “I think they’ve both had enough life experiences, so they’d probably punch me, but a therapist would make a killing on those two. They share a lot of issues, and they deal with it in similar ways, but I think that Silas might have it even worse than Dean does. Because with Dean, at least he knows his brother is coming back. His weirdo guardian angel is coming back. But the writers for Demoniac don’t work that way. If someone does come back, they’re an untouchable ghost or something. They’re not normal. And Silas has lost so many people close to him that, on one hand, it makes him even crazier about protecting the ones he has left in his life. But on the other hand, he’s starting to feel like a jinx. Every time he sees someone he cares about, he thinks ‘is this the last time?’ And that’s enough to drive anyone off the deep end. The guy needs a vacation at this point. Hugs aren’t gonna cut it anymore, but every time he leaves, things go to shit. So for better or worse, he’s stuck.”
Far too soon, it’s nearly 2 a.m. which means last call for alcohol, as well as the end of our interview. “Already?” he asks, and he makes what I hope is a disappointed expression. “I wish all interviews went like this.” In a bar? Jensen laughs, and shrugs his shoulders. “Maybe. It didn’t feel like an interview, but I guess the alcohol could have something to do with that.” As he walks me out to the front of the lobby, I tell him good luck with his Marilyn conversation and he sighs dramatically, glancing over at the elevators before turning back to me with a grin.
“Right? Where’s Silas Greyson when you really need him?” ♦ GQ
bookishbeth asked: What if Silas and Sesheta never met? What if Zel was a Slayer? Do you know if Piper LIKES-me-likes-me or does she just like me (circle one)?
Oi, Beth, he doesn’t even want to think about the possibility. As much as Sesheta has been a source of heartbreak (although a much different kind than he’s used to, thankfully), he also sees her as one of the few constants left in his life. She’s the one person who forced him out of himself, I guess—made him embrace the fact that life was going to move on, and he had to as well. So if they’d never met? I imagine he’d still be as sullen and withdrawn as he was when he first came back to Los Angeles. I mean, hypothetically, I’d love to say that Sam would’ve taken her spot as far as making him feel alive again was concerned, but they were both so dysfunctional that I think he needed the Sesheta buffer to remind him how to love again, and to prove to himself that he was still capable of it, despite everything. So short answer? Without Sesheta, Si would be a hermit in all likelihood. Like a crazy cat lady who never leaves her house—only minus the cats. Apparently, he’s allergic.
First of all, lemme preface the Zel as a slayer speech with the fact that her and Felicity would be best friends. In fact, that idea is the only one in my head where it’s even plausible that they’d be friends at all. I think her no bullshit attitude would still hold firm, though. Even if she didn’t have the traumatic past that she did, being a slayer makes everyone a little unbalanced to some extent. That said, she’d be the glue of the slayer group, I think. Fel and Del… she’d view them as little sisters more than anything, and try to make sure they kept their heads on straight. She’d still be her brusque, sarcastic, and fabulous self, but she’d be fighting the good fight, and she’d wield a stake and daggers and a uv gun instead of fangs. As a sidenote, though? The idea of her going toe to toe with Col and Mik on the other side of the fence is cracking me up.
Piper wishes me to tell you that she loves you very much, and that she’s already looking at color schemes for your unlikely, but possible (because never say never, I suppose) wedding.
cosmogenies-deactivated20120330 asked: what was zel like as a child? and piper as well? if silas had ended up as a hunter, what would he have been like? what's a secret beyond belial that evelyn has kept from piper?
ONE AT A TIME, GURL. jk ilu
It’s actually funny to think of Zel as a child, simply because wee!Zel is the complete opposite from what she tries to project now. While adult!vampire her is hard nosed and malicious, wee!Zel was certainly boisterous, but respectful. She had a rather priviliged upbringing, until the Nazi’s rose to power, because her father was a doctor; but rather than rubbing her wealth in anyone’s face, she did for others as much as possible. She aimed to please her parents, helped raise her younger brothers, excelled in her schooling, and was generally sociable and outgoing. If someone was in trouble, she would do everything she could to help. Those small snippets of humanity and humility that vampire!Zel has sometimes are her lost innocence, and that good person she once was peeking through the veil.
Piper, luckily for her, grew up rather well adjusted. As a young child, she was inquisitive, but only about the subject matter at hand. That’s mostly to say that she hadn’t yet formed any opinions about her mothers blind hate for demons (she just assumed her dad was the bad guy in that equation, because that’s what Evelyn made it SEEM like). And for the most part, she enjoyed her lifestyle too. Traveling the country, learning new things—these helped shape her as she is today. A part of her always wondered how other kids had it, of course. What it was like to go to school, to have friends her own age, things of that nature, but overall it was just another source of curiosity in her life. As she became a teenager, she started to become more demanding (although, carefully, much like she is as an adult) and was a little more suspicious over her mother’s shade about her dad (which is boiling to a head in this upcoming narrative >.>). But she still retained the respect she had for her mother and Scott and didn’t push the envelope with either one of them too much. Except that one time when a vampire tried to eat her face off… lesson learned about listening to her parents.
Oh, boy. Okay, imagine Silas, with all of his rage, and pent up guilt issues over his best friend and his parents dying, only physically capable of doing something about it. Short answer? He’d be deadly. In fact, if he had been a hunter (and specifically, post Sam dying) I think his whole mentality of helping other people not suffer as much as he or the rest of his family has would be completely flipped around. He’d make other people suffer as much as possible, because in his hunter mind, he can. After being a victim for so long, he’d just want to cause as much pain as possible to other people so he can make himself feel better about the awful things that have gone on in his own life. Of course, eventually, someone would probably talk some sense into him, and then he’d have another mental breakdown realizing what he’s done. Basically, Silas can’t win at life. It’s his defining character flaw. He’s like the Quinn of Demoniac.
As for the last one? Aside from still being in love with the girl’s dad, rather than being in love with Scott (or at least, being in love with them both to different degrees with Belial head and shoulders above Scott) there’s nothing she kept from her daughter. It’s probably where Piper gets her “honesty is the best policy” mentality from, because her mother was always upfront about what she did before Pipe was born (and before she met Belial) and even told her daughter she willingly agreed to carry his child. The only reason she never told her daughter about the fact that she was in love with Belial is because given Piper’s cool and rational nature, it was likely that the girl would pay her dad a visit down in Hell to make them get their shit together. Which, lol, she inadvertently does, although adult!piper is all WHAT? about that. Which I’m sure we’ll get to see soon as well.
pose a hypothetical question about one of my characters and i will babble on about what that would have been like/possibly write a little drabble for it if the urge strikes me.

Beth's Demoniac Blog: How did Sesheta and Silas meet?
I haven’t consulted Nat on this at all, but I imagine Sesheta and Silas’s meetcute involved competitive investigator shenanigans, in which they kept being on the trail of the same missing supe persons (for different reasons, obviously) and, like, just kept missing each other. Like every person…

cosmogenies-deactivated20120330 asked: mik & bex
- How I feel about this character: Ugh, I have so many feels on Mik, and the more his back story with Anna and Belial comes to light, the more you really get to see the motivation and emotion in his character. He has all of these reasons to just hate everyone indiscriminately, but he’ll still drop everything to save the people he does care about, and that just makes me want to cling to him.
- All the people I ship romantically with this character: Col, AND FEL, AND I REGRET NOTHING. THAT SHIP LIVES ON IN MY HEART. And Belial, because they are just balls of emotion around each other.
- My non-romantic OTP for this character: vodka and borscht.
- My unpopular opinion about this character: I think still shipping him in my head with Felicity counts as unpopular. But whatever, they are happy, and Mik made her I’m Sorry cookies infused with vanilla stoli, and probably some narcotics and magic to make Fel forgive him.
- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I’d say the above, but mostly the I’m Sorry cookies. Because I think that’d be hilarious.
BEX
- How I feel about this character: I love her for dozens of reasons, but most importantly because she gives Gisella a partner in crime in every universe. She doesn’t keep Zel out of trouble in any of them, but is always there to bail her out (sometimes literally), and that works both ways for them. They don’t balance each other out, but they snap into place with one another really well because they’re so much alike in all of the right ways. I love her for this, if only because she keeps Zel from going nuts constantly in my head.
- All the people I ship romantically with this character: Jonah, Zel, and Mathias. If Jonah wouldn’t kill her, I’d encourage the hell out of that union in canon. Or a threesome with Zel. Probably the threesome.
- My non-romantic OTP for this character: Mikitty, definitely.
- My unpopular opinion about this character: Idek. I don’t have anything for this one, except that she should bang Mathias, but idk if that’s actually unpopular. W/E I ship it
- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I WANT NARRATIVES ON HER LIFE PRE-JONAH AND MATHIAS. ASAP.
evangelinerpg-deactivated201204 asked: Meta on how college! evan and zel first met
It was freshman year, on the night of move-in day. Zel was in the process of splitting with her ex-boyfriend (who was attending NYU back home) over the phone because he was still whining about her going to school on the opposite coast, and she finally had to break it down for him (very loudly, from outside all the way up the stairs to their room) that she did it to get away from him. Which wasn’t necessarily true—she did it to get away from everyone and the city, but it suited her need to tell him it was because of him specifically. She finally hung up on him in frustration right outside the room door once he started crying, and stormed into the dorm to find Evan, her new roommate. Immediately, Zel thought that she was gorgeous and that if nothing else, at least she’d have eye candy for the semester—and hopefully the year if it went well. Even though she was in a mood before, due to dealing with her ex, she immediately switched on her fast talking and brusque NYC charm to introduce herself to Evan. Within a few minutes, she could tell that Evan was someone who knew how to have a good time, but who wouldn’t take any of her shit either and that piqued her interest even more because she loves a good challenge. And for the first time in her life, she is actually a little nervous about someone’s first impression of her. It’s unsettling to say the least, so she suggested they have a few drinks while they unpacked, and pulled out a bottle of vodka she stashed in her mini-fridge earlier that day, figuring it might make her more sociable and less fidgety around Evan. While they set up their room, Gisella became more loose-lipped, and explained the ex phone call, insisting that she was done with romantic relationships when it came to men (emphasizing the men part of it to gauge Evan’s reaction once Zel realized she definitely had a crush on her already, bringing to light very latent bisexualism) because they were nothing but crazy and disappointing, She took an oath to herself to swear off of anything outside of sleeping with them for good (which is not actually the case, though she does take this very seriously over the next few years). All through this conversation though, she is silently hoping that Evan is catching all of this to use as a reference to frame her with so the blond will know where she stands on the idea of hooking up with her, and realize that it is definitely on the table for the two of them. She wants to set the ball in motion early on, but she’s not very good at it when it comes to women since this is definitely a new thing for her, and her nervousness about it is completely evident, and later a teasing point in their friendship.

- All the people I ship romantically with this character

- My unpopular opinion about this character
- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
